Lithuania has criticized Hungary's blockade stance on the EU's planned new aid to Ukraine and the extension of existing sanctions against Russia.

"We see time and again how a state delays and obstructs joint decisions on sanctions or support for Ukraine. I hope that Hungary will lift its restrictions and we will be able to provide Ukraine with 6.6 billion euros in military aid," said Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys in Vilnius, according to Lithuanian media. "This is an ongoing process and these arguments are ridiculous."

Hungary is blocking a proposal for a new EU package of military aid for Ukraine, which is under attack from Russia. His country would not support spending European taxpayers' money to prolong the war, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced via the X platform. He also announced that he would delay the decision to extend existing sanctions against Russia.
