"What Benjamin Netanyahu's government is currently doing is unacceptable," Macron said on TF1. Humanitarian aid from France and other countries for the population in Gaza is being blocked by Israel. The humanitarian crisis in the coastal strip is devastating. There is no water and no medicine. Macron spoke of a disgrace.
France has always recognized Israel's right to defend itself after the massacre by Hamas and other terrorist groups on 7 October 2023, but has also made it clear that the solution does not lie in indiscriminate attacks on the Gaza Strip. Israel's government recently announced that it would expand its attacks in the Gaza Strip.
"It is President Trump who has the leverage," said Macron, referring to the US President. He himself had spoken harsh words and argued with Netanyahu. "But France alone, even with the other Europeans, can exert all the pressure in the world." Israel does not depend on them, but on US weapons.
