According to official information, numerous Russian airports, including the four Moscow airports, were forced to close overnight due to a major Ukrainian drone attack. According to the Rosaviatsiya aviation authority, more than 130 flights had to be diverted, delayed or canceled in Moscow alone. In total, the capital's airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky were put out of operation for more than seven hours.

The Ministry of Defense in Moscow reported the downing of almost 300 Ukrainian drones during the night. More than a third of them were taken out of the sky in the western Russian region of Bryansk on the border with Ukraine. However, 40 drones were also shot down in each of the Kaluga and Moscow regions, according to the military. The Ministry of Defense traditionally did not provide any information on damage.

According to media reports, a fire has broken out in the northern Russian region of Novgorod. According to unconfirmed reports, the attack was aimed at a fertilizer factory that also produces ammonia nitrate. This in turn is used in the production of explosives.

Meanwhile, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, stated that Ukrainian drone attacks had so far caused serious damage in just under half (41) of the country's regions. Since the beginning of the war, the damage has amounted to around 600 billion roubles (6.7 billion euros), he said. Moscow would demand compensation from Kiev for this, he announced. Russia, for its part, is systematically bombarding Ukraine with drones, missiles and cruise missiles. According to Kiev's estimates, the total damage caused in Ukraine by the Russian invasion is in the three-digit billion euro range.
