According to the authorities, at least one person was killed and a further 18 injured in a bomb attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia. Two minors were among the injured, regional governor Ivan Fedorov announced on Telegram. The number of victims could still rise; a search is underway for more people under the rubble of the residential buildings.

According to Fedorov, twelve large apartment blocks and a further twelve private homes were hit. Zaporizhia is only a few dozen kilometers from the front. The Russian military therefore used guided glide bombs against the large city. These can be dropped from an aircraft far behind the front line and then sail into the target area. Russia has significantly developed this type of bomb during the four-year war. They now have a greater range and explosive power.
