Russia and Ukraine have continued their massive mutual drone attacks ahead of the talks on US President Donald Trump's peace plan planned in Geneva. In the Ukrainian industrial city of Dnipro, a residential building caught fire after a meeting and at least 15 people were injured, including an eleven-year-old girl, according to the authorities.

According to the military administration, two residential buildings were also hit in Zaporizhzhya the previous evening, injuring six people. The three men and three women had to be treated in hospital. In total, Russia attacked 98 drones during the night, according to the air force. Most of the flying objects were rendered harmless, but 27 drones hit 12 locations.

At least eight people have died in the contested areas of Donetsk and Kherson since Saturday, according to the authorities. There have also been 15 injuries.

Fire at thermal power plant near Moscow

A thermal power plant in the Moscow region in the city of Shatura caught fire during counter-attacks by Ukraine using drones, as Governor Andrey Vorobyov and eyewitnesses reported on social networks. Vorobyov announced on Telegram that the air defense had shot down some of the drones, while others had hit the power plant site. The power supply in Shatura was intact.

According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, at least three drones flew towards the Russian capital. The air defense destroyed them. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported in the morning that a total of 75 attacks by Ukrainian drones had been repelled. As usual, the ministry did not provide any information on damage or casualties.

A possible end to the fighting in the Russian war of aggression, which has been going on for almost four years, is to be discussed this morning during negotiations on Trump's peace plan in Geneva. A Ukrainian delegation is meeting with representatives from the USA and Europe to discuss the 28-point plan, which demands concessions from Kiev in particular. Russian representatives are not present.
