According to media reports, one person has been injured in the US state of Arizona in a shooting incident in which the US Border Patrol is also said to have been involved. He was in a critical condition, as the US broadcasters NBC News and Fox News reported, citing local authorities. The Pima County Sheriff's Department in the south of the state confirmed to Deutsche Presse-Agentur that the Border Patrol was involved in the incident. This authority did not initially respond to a request for comment.

NBC News reported, citing the local fire department, that one person had been shot on Tuesday morning (local time). It was initially unclear exactly how the shooting incident occurred. The person was then flown by helicopter to a regional trauma center.
The sheriff's office said it was working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Border Patrol, ABC News reported.
