Israel's military announced that it was taking action against Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) targets in the city of Gaza. The Israeli armed forces have been deployed there for several days. "So far, the forces have eliminated dozens of terrorists," it said in a statement.

According to Wafa, six people were killed in an Israeli attack on a building in the city. Rescuers subsequently recovered a small child alive. According to the report, there were also further attacks on the city in the north of the coastal area, some of which were fatal.

According to the army, it is also continuing its operations in the Shejaiya district in the city of Gaza and in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. According to the army, many terrorists were also killed there.

Israeli army: No evacuation of clinics in combat zones

Wafa reported, citing medical circles, that Israel's army had forced doctors at the Al-Ahli hospital in the city of Gaza to close the clinic. After the area around the clinic came under heavy fire, all patients and displaced persons staying there were forced to leave the hospital. Israel's military denied the claim.

Civilians had been asked to leave the combat zones of the city of Gaza as a precautionary measure. However, the call did not apply to hospitals and medical facilities. The army had informed representatives of the Palestinian health system that it was not necessary to evacuate clinics in the area. According to Palestinian reports, a number of people, including patients, had previously left the Al-Ahli hospital.

None of the information could initially be independently verified.
