US law enforcement agencies, which are not actually responsible for enforcing immigration laws, will now also be able to take action against illegal immigrants.

The current Secretary of Homeland Security, Benjamine Huffman, authorized the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Bureau of Prisons and the US Marshals, who are responsible for prisoner transportation or personal security in the justice system, to identify and arrest people who have entered the country illegally. The authorities are all subordinate to the Ministry of Justice.
"Mobilizing these law enforcement officers will help fulfill President Trump's promise to the American people to carry out mass deportations," Huffman said. For decades, there have been insufficient resources for efforts to locate and apprehend illegal immigrants, he said. "This is an important step in addressing this problem."
The new US President Donald Trump wants to take rigorous action against immigrants who enter the country illegally or who are already in the USA without valid residence status. He is now involving several ministries in order to achieve his goals. More US soldiers are to support the border guards on the border with Mexico, while the State Department is to ensure that repatriations to countries of origin are possible.
