Russia's government has denied accusations of passing on intelligence information to Iran to combat US military targets in the Middle East. "We have supplied Iran with certain types of military goods, but we cannot agree with the accusation that we are helping Iran with intelligence data," Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with France Television published on the ministry's website.

The coordinates of the US military bases in the region are known and openly accessible. They do not have to be transmitted by the secret service. "I am not surprised that Iran is attacking them," said Russia's chief diplomat. He confirmed that Moscow and Tehran were still strategic partners.

The fact that Iran is also attacking targets in the Arab countries of the region is a consequence of the attack by the USA and Israel, which is contrary to international law, emphasized Lavrov. He rejected parallels with his own war of aggression in Ukraine.
