Against the backdrop of reports of a possible agreement between the USA and Iran, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized that the primary goal remains the complete removal of highly enriched uranium from Iran and the reduction of its enrichment capacities. This is a joint goal of Israel and the USA, Netanyahu said at the start of a meeting of the so-called Security Cabinet.

"President (Donald) Trump believes that he can achieve this in one way or another," Netanyahu added. At the same time, however, Israel is "prepared for any scenario", and this is also his instruction to the Israeli army. "Israel is stronger than ever, Iran and its proxies are weaker than ever," the head of government reiterated.
At the same time, he denied media reports that Israel had been surprised by the possible imminent agreement between the USA and Iran. "We are in constant contact with our friends in the United States". He himself speaks with Trump "almost daily".
