Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the international community to act quickly following the new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran's nuclear program. The agency had found that Iranian production of uranium almost suitable for weapons had increased significantly during the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the USA. The world must stop Iran now, it said in a statement distributed by the office of the Israeli head of government.

According to the IAEA report, Tehran now has almost 409 kilograms of uranium with a purity level of 60 percent. Since the agency's last quarterly report in February, the amount has increased by around 49 percent. According to diplomatic circles, around 42 kilograms would be enough for a nuclear weapon if this uranium were enriched to 90 percent. Nuclear negotiations are currently underway between Iran and the USA.
In view of the report, Netanyahu sees his warnings of recent years confirmed: "The Iranian nuclear program does not serve peace." This is now clear with the report. "This level of enrichment only exists in countries that are actively seeking nuclear weapons and has no civilian justification whatsoever," said Netanyahu. According to him, Iran is "determined to complete its nuclear weapons program".
There has been speculation for some time about possible Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. This is due to fears that the Islamic Republic could be seeking nuclear weapons. However, Tehran denies this. US President Donald Trump recently stated that he had warned Netanyahu to take measures that could disrupt talks with Iran over its nuclear program.
