The next G7 summit will be held in the French spa town of Évian on Lake Geneva in 2026. This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron during this year's meeting of heads of state and government in Canada. The chairmanship of the group of leading democratic economic powers rotates between the member states; next year it will be France's turn.

Évian-les-Bains is located near the border with Switzerland in the Alps. The town of 9,000 inhabitants is known for its mineral water spring. It previously hosted a summit of the group of states known at the time as the G8 in 2003 - Russia was still at the table at the time. A spokeswoman for the Élysée Palace in Paris announced the dates for next year's summit as June 14-16.
It will be Macron's second G7 summit as host, unless he unexpectedly leaves office early. In 2019, he welcomed the group to the seaside resort of Biarritz on the French Atlantic coast. US President Donald Trump was among the guests at that time - during his first term of office (2017-2021). All other G7 members are now led by different politicians than in 2019. The group of leading democratic economic powers includes the USA, Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Canada and Japan, as well as the European Union.
