The integration of immigrants works well in Switzerland. This is the conclusion of a study published on Tuesday by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

At 77%, the employment rate of immigrants is well above the OECD average. In an international comparison, immigrants in Switzerland are well educated and make an active effort to learn a national language.

The study sees a need for action in the integration of women. They find it more difficult than men to gain a foothold in the labor market.

Immigrants are people who were born abroad and now live in Switzerland. Three quarters of them came to the country via the free movement of persons within the EU. The study was commissioned by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).
