A fire caused by Ukrainian drone attacks during the night at an oil storage facility in southern Russia has been extinguished. The extinguishing work took around half a day, according to the Krasnodar region's crisis management team. The depot near the town of Tikhoretsk went up in flames during the night. It was the second attack on the depot in just a few days. According to official reports, two high-voltage power lines were also damaged in the attack. Tikhorezk is located hundreds of kilometers from the front.

Russia has been waging war against Ukraine for more than four years, systematically shelling its neighbor's hinterland. The Russian armed forces are primarily targeting energy facilities. In return, Kiev is targeting not only military installations but also objects belonging to the Russian oil and gas industry in its defensive campaign. This is intended to make it more difficult for Moscow to supply fuel to the Russian military on the one hand and to finance the war as a whole on the other.
