This very often avoids the need to dispose of these appliances, as Consumer Protection Switzerland reported on Thursday: around 70 percent of the appliances brought to "Repair Cafés" last year could be repaired.
On Saturday, the 34 temporary repair events can be found in rural areas such as Ebnat-Kappel SG as well as in cities such as Zurich. In Zurich, a pop-up repair workshop will open in the main railway station.
According to consumer protection, the repair movement is growing in Switzerland. There are now over 250 "Repair Cafés" in Switzerland, writes Konsumentenschutz. People who repair things save money, extend the lifespan of everyday items and actively support the circular economy.
Last year, electronic devices accounted for almost half of all items repaired in "Repair Cafés". In addition to electronic devices, textiles and leather goods can also be brought to the repair workshops.
