Around 15 people were also killed and around 40 others injured in an airstrike on a school run by the UN refugee agency UNRWA in the refugee district of Nuseirat in the center of the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian news agency Wafa had previously reported another Israeli airstrike on a house in Chan Junis, after which paramedics had recovered four bodies. Three people were also injured. According to the report, four people were also killed in Rafah in the morning.
The Israeli army has already attacked schools several times during the Gaza war because, according to the military, they are being misused as bases or shields by Hamas or other terrorist organizations in violation of international law.

The army announced that it had attacked around 40 targets in the Gaza Strip from the air on Monday, including sniper and observation posts as well as Hamas military installations. The military also continued fighting in the center of the Gaza Strip and in Rafah in the south of the coastal area. "Over the course of the past day, the troops eliminated terrorists," it said of the operation in Rafah.

According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, at least 49 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been killed in Israeli attacks in the past 24 hours. In total, at least 38,713 people have been killed and a further 89,166 injured since the start of the war. These figures, which do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, cannot be independently verified at present.
According to Israeli media, there was another rocket attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip. Three rockets were fired at Israeli territory near the border. Two rockets landed in open areas and another was intercepted.
