"Both have shown that they have an open ear for the concerns of young people," Junge Mitte President Marc Rüdisüli told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request.

At a "hearing" on Saturday, Ritter and Pfister answered questions from around 120 members of the Young Party who had traveled to the event. Rüdisüli did not wish to provide any information on the answers given by the two candidates when asked.

In addition to the topics that are currently dominating political debates in Switzerland, the two candidates are also familiar with issues that are particularly important to young people, the Thurgau cantonal councillor emphasized. According to Rüdisüli, these include the mental health of young people, climate change and family policy.

Junge Mitte Schweiz is not making an election recommendation, said Rüdisüli. With the two candidates, the center is offering a good selection.
