Federal Criminal Court Prison sentences for two Islamists from Winterthur
The Federal Criminal Court has sentenced two Islamists from Winterthur to unconditional prison sentences of 36 and 35 months. They also received conditional fines. The court found the two guilty of supporting a terrorist organization.

They were also found guilty of possessing prohibited depictions of violence. The 23-year-old and the 28-year-old have previous convictions for supporting the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS). They were remanded in custody for 718 and 1192 days respectively.
The defendants were acquitted of the charge of participating in a terrorist organization. According to the indictment by the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, the two men supported the Islamic State by collecting and forwarding donations.
The two Swiss men also translated propaganda texts of the Islamist organization and ran their own IS media agency for German-language IS propaganda.
