Great Britain Protest at Big Ben: Man with Palestinian flag on tower
In London, a man has triggered a major rescue operation because he climbed the clock tower at the British Parliament with a Palestinian flag. Police moved out to the Elizabeth Tower with the famous Big Ben bell on Saturday morning.

"Officers are at the scene and are working to bring the incident to a safe conclusion," the Metropolitan Police said. The fire and rescue service are also in attendance, it added.
A picture showed the man standing barefoot on a ledge on the tower façade. Emergency services on an aerial ladder tried to speak to him, according to the British news agency PA.
The scene in central London was cordoned off. The police initially gave no information about the man's motive. A reporter from the Sky News television station said it was unclear how he got there in the first place. Parliament was well secured.
