Russia Putin announces more modern weapons for the Russian army
Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has promised the Russian armed forces modern weapons and technology after three years of aggressive war against Ukraine. Based on the experience and requirements on the battlefield, equipping soldiers with new weapons is a priority, Putin said in a video message on Defender of the Fatherland Day. "I thank all participants in the special military operation for their fighting spirit and determination to win," Putin said ahead of the third anniversary of the start of the war this Monday.

The Russian army continues to advance in eastern Ukraine. Independent experts estimate that at least 95,000 soldiers have fallen in Putin's army alone. The Kremlin leader does not give figures.
