Batches 5T58, 6T15 and 8S14 of Spersallerg SDU, 20 monodoses x 0.3 ml, are affected, Swissmedic announced on Friday, citing the pharmaceutical company in Schaffhausen.

The recall was carried out as a precautionary measure because an abnormal tendency to increase the pH value and an impurity had been detected during the shelf life of the affected batch. Patients should immediately return products from the affected batch number to their doctor, pharmacist or chemist, the statement continued.

According to the pharmacy, Spersallerg is used to treat eye irritations such as hay fever conjunctivitis, spring allergy and other non-infectious, inflammatory symptoms of the eye.
