The Stapferhaus Lenzburg AG is dedicating its new exhibition world to the topic of "Health". The Stapferhaus wants to encourage visitors to think directly - and promises side effects. The exhibition runs until October 2025.

"The main thing is healthy. An exhibition with side effects" is the name of the exhibition at the Stapferhaus behind Lenzburg train station. It aims to take visitors on an interactive journey and broaden their minds. It all starts with an everyday question: "How are you?".

The exhibition aims to encourage visitors to reflect on the boundaries between health and illness. According to the Stapferhaus, it is also about the large healthcare market, medicines and their history, treatment methods and wellness and optimization trends.

What visitors will not get, however, is well-intentioned health tips. The exhibition organizers want visitors to "actively and critically engage with the topic and thus strengthen their personal health literacy".

"We are approaching the topic of health in a completely unbiased way by asking questions that are currently on many people's minds," says Stapferhaus Director Sibylle Lichtensteiger: "Why so many young people suffer from mental illness and how it is possible to stay healthy even in times of crisis."

According to the Stapferhaus team, they worked with many experts for the exhibition. These included doctors, philosophers, therapists, economists and historians.

Big themes in a small space

The Stapferhaus Lenzburg has already repeatedly addressed social issues with its previous exhibitions on topics such as faith, gender, money, home or dying and death - and struck a nerve. The exhibition has always attracted many interested visitors, including school classes.

The new exhibition is the last under the direction of Sibylle Lichtensteiger. After more than 20 years, Lichtensteiger will leave the Aargau exhibition center at the end of 2024, whose new building behind the train station opened in autumn 2018. Sonja Enz and Celia Bachmann will take over as co-directors of the Stapferhaus from next year.

The exhibition "Hauptsache gesund. An exhibition with side effects" opens next Sunday and runs until October 26, 2025.
