With the tour, Swiss Refugee Council (SFH) wants to strengthen understanding for refugees, emphasize the opportunities of an open and solidary Switzerland and invite people with and without a history of flight to engage in respectful exchange, the organization announced.
"Together, we want to counter the visible hardening in the public debate with an invitation to an open exchange characterized by mutual respect," SFH Director Miriam Behrens is quoted as saying in the press release.
The centerpiece of the exhibition series is an oversized, walk-in book that brings the history of integration in Switzerland to life through personal stories, the SFH wrote. There is also a wide range of events on offer, including information talks, readings, theater and poetry slams.
The exhibition will be on display at Bahnhofsplatz in Bern until Sunday, June 22. Other exhibition venues this year are Neuchâtel, Lausanne, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich.
