Politics Report: Israeli settlers shoot Palestinians dead
According to a report by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, a Palestinian has been shot dead and several others injured in new attacks by radical Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. Armed settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Kusra north of Jerusalem, shot dead a young Palestinian, shot two others and beat up the father of the man killed.

Previously, settlers had shot two Palestinians near the village of Kisan south of Bethlehem, also in the West Bank, beaten others and stolen around 100 sheep, Wafa reported. The Israeli side initially gave no details of the attacks.
Since the start of the Iran war, the attacks by Israeli settlers, which have been going on for years, have intensified. Attacks occur almost daily. Their use of firearms with intent to kill and injure has also increased. Seven Palestinians have been killed by settlers since the beginning of the year.
The Israeli army, which is responsible for security in the West Bank, condemns the violence. The Palestinian Authority in Ramallah warns that the settler violence in the shadow of the Iran war could lead to the expulsion of Palestinians. The Israeli army is not protecting Palestinians sufficiently and prosecution by the Israeli judiciary is inadequate.
