According to media reports, around 30 people have been killed in new Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the Israeli air force had attacked a former school building in the Al-Daraj district of Gaza, where internally displaced persons were being housed. At least eight people were killed in the attack.
The Israeli army spoke of a "precise strike against Hamas terrorists operating from a command and control center" in the building.
According to Wafa, four Palestinians were also killed in a targeted airstrike on a vehicle in the city of Gaza. Another 16 people were killed in further attacks in the central section and in the south of the embattled coastal strip.
According to Palestinian figures, more than 45,200 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023. The war was triggered by the Hamas massacre in Israel, which left more than 1,200 people dead and more than 250 displaced.
