Art action Riklin brothers lay out huge picnic cloth in Brig

The St. Gallen conceptual artists Frank and Patrik Riklin laid out a gigantic picnic cloth in the town of Brig VS on Monday. According to the artists, an estimated "well over a thousand people" took part in the collective picnic.

The twin brothers from St. Gallen call their project "Bignik". "Bignik pursues the subversive goal of bringing big-picture thinking and action into society and breaking down seemingly insurmountable barriers in people's minds", according to a press release issued by the Riklin brothers on Tuesday.

The long-term performance was launched in 2012. This year saw the first display of the cloth outside of Eastern Switzerland.
