The Russian opposition politician Lev Schlosberg from the Yabloko party has been added to the state extremist list. This was reported by the state news agency Tass. Inclusion on the list is associated with considerable financial restrictions. Schlosberg's assets have been frozen. He can only spend the equivalent of 111 euros a month and can no longer use credit cards.

The opposition media outlet Meduza suspects that Schlosberg was added to the list due to accusations of discrediting the Russian army in connection with ongoing proceedings, as no reasons were given. Schlosberg is number 18598 on the list.

Targeted by the Russian judiciary

The Russian judiciary has been taking action against the opposition politician for months. His arrest in the summer was condemned by the federal government. At the beginning of November, Schlosberg was sentenced to more than 400 hours of community service for allegedly violating conditions for his status as a "foreign agent".

The Kremlin has largely silenced critical media and the opposition. Open criticism is no longer possible in Russia; many opponents of the war and critics of the Kremlin are in exile.
