The station and other infrastructure buildings were damaged in an overnight Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian railroad junction of Losova, according to the civil defense. One railroad employee was killed and ten other people were injured, according to the public prosecutor's office in the Kharkiv region.

Railroad lines to Kharkiv and the eastern Ukrainian frontline towns of Kramatorsk and Kostyantynivka run through Losova. According to reports, the city was attacked by more than 30 Russian combat drones. Mayor Serhij Selenskyj spoke of the most serious attack in more than three years of war.

Supplies for the front line to be interrupted

Both warring parties hope to disrupt enemy supplies to the front by damaging the railroad on the other side. For several weeks now, Ukraine has been attacking not only refineries but also railroad lines in Russia. According to Russian reports, the Tazinskaya station in the Rostov region was attacked on Tuesday night. There was no reliable information.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion since February 2022.
