Politics Russia attacks Kiev with over 40 combat drones
The Russian military attacked targets in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and other parts of the country with dozens of combat drones during the night. "Over 40 enemy drones were shot down in two waves over the Kiev area and on the outskirts of the capital," the Kiev military administration announced on Telegram. Not a single drone reached its target in the capital.

The authority described the attack as one of the strongest on Ukraine during the entire war. In total, the city of three million people was on air alert for over eight hours during the night.
Russian drone attacks were also reported in other regions. Six were shot down over the south-eastern Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk - four more over the Mykolaiv region in the south of the country. A general overview of the Ukrainian air defense operations during the night was still pending.
Ukraine has been fending off a Russian invasion for over two years. Both armies rely heavily on the use of combat drones, including on targets far in the enemy's hinterland.
