Russia once again launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine during the night - with 140 drones, according to information from Kiev.

Of these, 85 were shot down and the location of 52 was lost, according to the Ukrainian military. This is mostly due to electronic defenses. Damage was reported in the Kharkiv and Odessa regions.

The regional governor of the southern region of Odessa, Oleh Kiper, wrote on Telegram that a woman had been injured by the attacks. In addition, the port infrastructure and a non-operational educational facility were damaged.

Air alert also in several regions of Russia

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 83 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted and destroyed over nine Russian regions during the night. The areas affected were Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk, Tver, Belgorod, Kaluga, Smolensk, Voronezh and Rostov.

The governor of the Russian region of Lipetsk, Igor Artamonov, wrote on his Telegram channel of a "massive drone attack". A woman was injured by falling debris and the power supply was temporarily partially cut off. In the Voronezh region, according to Governor Alexander Gusev, there was damage to a gas pipeline, which has since been repaired, and damage to residential buildings.

The military statements from both sides cannot be verified in detail, but allow conclusions to be drawn about the extent of the attacks. Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for almost three years.

Both sides attack each other with drones almost every night. However, the consequences of the Ukrainian attacks are disproportionate to the damage and casualties caused by Russia in the neighboring country.
