According to the Ukrainian air force, the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region was attacked by dozens of drones and Kinschal hypersonic missiles, as reported by the RBK-Ukraine news agency, among others.
Explosions were heard in the city. Residents reported disruptions to electricity and heating supplies. There was initially no information about casualties or the extent of the damage. The information could not initially be verified independently.
A massive Russian airstrike had already hit Ukraine's power grid again on Saturday night. Casualties and emergency power cuts were reported in several regions. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi once again accused Moscow of attacking Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. Based on the count of the US institute CSIS, it is likely to have been the third heaviest air attack of the war to date with 653 drones and 51 rockets and cruise missiles.
