According to the authorities, a man has been killed in a new Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian port city of Odessa on the Black Sea. The 77-year-old died of a shrapnel wound in a suburb, as Governor Oleh Kiper announced on Telegram. Important infrastructure was also damaged. Electricity, water and heating had failed in parts of the city. In the suburbs of Odessa, houses were also damaged by debris from drones that had been shot down.

The civil defense spoke of severe damage and fires in private homes. Dozens of emergency services were on the move to "eliminate the consequences of terror", according to the authorities. The Ukrainian air defense reported that ten drones had been shot down.

Odessa has repeatedly been the target of Russian air strikes using drones, missiles and cruise missiles. In the Russian war of aggression, which has been going on for more than three years, Ukraine has repeatedly called for its air defenses to be strengthened in order to better protect itself from Moscow's air strikes.
