According to the military city administration, a civilian infrastructure facility in the city of Odessa was set on fire at night. The extinguishing work was continuing, wrote military administration chief Serhij Lysak on Telegram. There were no deaths or injuries.

Coast near Odessa polluted by oil and ash

Lysak also reported that clean-up work was continuing on the coast near Odessa following a major oil leak. According to him, a Russian attack caused containers containing flour and vegetable oil to catch fire in the port of Piwdennyj on Wednesday. Oil and ash spilled into the sea and polluted the water surface and beaches.

The Russian army has been firing missiles and drones at Odessa and the surrounding area for weeks, targeting energy plants, industry and the ports. The residents of Odessa have suffered even more than other regions of Ukraine from hours-long power cuts and blackouts. Russia has been waging a large-scale war of aggression against the neighboring country for three and a half years.

The Russian military announced that 77 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted overnight. There was no information on impacts or damage.
