A high-rise building was destroyed in a Russian bomb attack on the large city of Kherson in southern Ukraine. According to preliminary information from the authorities, at least six people were injured as a result of the impact, including two 13-year-old children. "The mother of the injured children is probably still lying under the rubble," said the military governor of the region, Olexander Prokudin, on Telegram. The rescue and recovery work is ongoing.

Pictures show that an entire entrance to a ten-storey building has been destroyed and partially collapsed. The surrounding houses were also damaged by the force of the detonation wave.

Russia is increasingly using heavy glide bombs in its war against Ukraine, which are dropped from aircraft far in front of the front line and then sail over dozens of kilometers to the target. The destructive power of these bombs is enormous and the risk to pilots is low, as they operate outside the range of air defenses.

In addition to the bombs, drones were also used again during the night. Once again, the port city of Odessa was hit, where tens of thousands had already been cut off from electricity and heating supplies the day before following a drone attack. According to military governor Oleh Kiper, the strikes caused several fires in the city. One woman was admitted to hospital with injuries.
