According to the Russian occupying power, seven people were killed and more than 20 injured by a drone attack by the Ukrainian military in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson. The attack hit a busy market in the town of Oleshky on the May Day holiday, wrote Vladimir Saldo, the head of the administration appointed by Moscow, on Telegram.

Saldo published a short video taken from the air, but it did not indicate that there were many people in the area or that rescue work was underway. Another video circulating on social networks showed a lifeless person while other passers-by were moving calmly.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke of a "criminal act" by Kiev, which was also on the conscience of Western supporters who supplied Ukraine with weapons. "It is quite obvious that behind the vain and unfounded demands for the so-called restoration of Ukraine to its 1991 borders by the Kiev regime and the forces in the West that support it, there is a cannibalistic instinct to eradicate everything Russian," the statement continued.

Oleshky is located on the southern side of the Dnipro River and has been under Russian occupation for around three years. Only a few kilometers away is the large city of Kherson, which is in Ukrainian hands.
