According to the report, the Russian military initially attacked the regional capital with drones in the early hours of the morning. Shortly afterwards, the impact of two ballistic missiles was also registered. However, neither caused any major damage, Synjehubow wrote on Telegram.

In the central Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, the towns of Nikopol and Marhanez on the Dnipro River opposite the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant were once again the target of Russian attacks. "Three people aged 68, 51 and 72 were injured," said military governor Serhij Lysak. They were taken to hospital. There was also damage to a medical facility, a fire station and a store.

Ukraine also fires at Russia with drones

Ukraine also fired at Russia with drones. The Russian military claimed to have shot down 162 drones. Attacks were reported in the border regions of Kursk, Lipetsk, Belgorod, Voronezh and Oryol, as well as in the more distant regions of Ryazan and Tambov. According to Governor Igor Artamonov, one person suffered minor injuries in Lipetsk. In Kursk, three detached houses and a block of flats were damaged, according to Governor Alexander Chinstejn.

The previous day, Ukraine had launched a spectacular attack on five Russian military airfields with strategic fighter bombers, some of which were located thousands of kilometers from the border. According to the Ukrainian secret service, small drones were used in the maneuver, which were driven close to the airfields in trucks. It was also a demonstration of strength shortly before the second round of negotiations on a ceasefire. The talks are due to begin today, Monday, in Istanbul.
