They also demanded a tightening of sanctions against Russia, as the association "Russia of the Future - Switzerland", which had called for the rallies, wrote in a communiqué. According to the Keystone-SDA news agency, a total of around 70 people took part in the demonstrations.

In Zurich, around 20 people gathered on Europaplatz, as Andrey Lipattsev, board member of the association, said on request. The demonstrations marked several important anniversaries: one year after the assassination of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, three years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and ten years after the assassination of opposition politician Boris Nemtsov in Moscow.
