USA Selensky also classifies raw materials agreement as historic
Following the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has also described the raw materials agreement between the USA and his country as historic. It was the first result of his bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the funeral celebrations for the late Pope Francis in Rome a few days ago, Selensky explained in his evening video address. The agreement will soon be ratified by the Ukrainian parliament.

With the raw materials agreement, Ukraine is granting the USA access to valuable natural resources in order to keep the superpower as an ally against Russian aggression. The agreement was negotiated for weeks and the possible sell-out of the war-torn Ukraine was disputed - now an agreement has been signed. Although the negotiations were sometimes difficult, the result is now convincing, said Selenskyj.
"Now it is a truly equal agreement that creates the opportunity for investment in Ukraine - and on a considerable scale - and also for a significant modernization of production in Ukraine and - no less important - for a modernization of legal practice in our country," said Selenskyj. "This is cooperation with America and on fair terms, when both the Ukrainian state and the United States, which helps us in our defense, can earn money in partnership."
