Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fears the consequences of the Iran war for the situation in his country. "I have a very bad feeling about the impact of this war on the situation in Ukraine and about the focus of the USA - which is unfortunately more on the Middle East than on Ukraine," said Zelensky in an interview with the British BBC broadcast on Sunday. "Our diplomatic meetings, the trilateral meetings are constantly being postponed. There is a reason for this: the war in Iran."

For Russian President Vladimir Putin, a long war in Iran is "a plus". In addition to high energy prices, it would also mean a depletion of resources. "For Putin, it is an advantage that the resources do not go to Ukraine," said Selenskyj according to the BBC. "He has to weaken us, and that is a long process. The Middle East is one of the ways to achieve that." There will definitely be a shortage of Patriot missiles that could be accessible to Ukraine if needed, he added.
