Politics Selenskyj: US representative expected in Ukraine
Following talks in the USA about an end to the Russian war of aggression, Kiev is expecting envoys from US President Donald Trump in the coming weeks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the visit would take place between now and the beginning of the summer and that arrangements were currently being made, he wrote on social media.
The day before, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Rustem Umyerov, had been in the USA for talks. The meetings were rich in content, Selensky said. Topics included agreements on security guarantees and humanitarian issues such as the exchange of prisoners of war.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than four years with Western help. The USA recently mediated in direct talks with Moscow. Negotiations are currently paused, partly because Washington is distracted by the Iran war.
