The plan will give industry the foundation it needs to drive change, he said in a statement on Sunday evening. AI will create more jobs and investment in the UK, the Prime Minister said. Starmer will present the plans in a speech on Monday.
Three major technology companies - Vantage Data Centres, Nscale and Kyndryl - have committed to investing 14 billion pounds (15.6 billion Swiss francs) to build the AI infrastructure, according to the press release. To this end, AI growth zones are to be set up across the country and the planning and construction of data centers accelerated. This is expected to create 13,250 jobs in the UK.
According to the information provided, the use of AI should also help the public sector to provide services and make administrative work easier. The National Health Service (NHS), government offices and schools, for example, could benefit from this.
