Swiss has decided to suspend flights to Tel Aviv until December 15. The flight suspension was originally planned until November 25. Flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut will not even take place until January 18. This decision was taken due to the tense security situation in the region caused by the current conflicts.
Passengers affected by these changes will be contacted directly by Swiss. They will be offered the opportunity to rebook their flights to a later date free of charge or to have their ticket price refunded. These measures are intended to accommodate travelers and offer them flexibility.
The Lufthansa Group, to which Swiss belongs, has also taken measures. As announced in Frankfurt on Monday, the flight stop to Tel Aviv also applies to the Lufthansa subsidiaries Austrian and Brussels Airlines. Lufthansa itself has decided not to fly to Tel Aviv until the end of the year.
Flights to Beirut are also affected by the regulations. Lufthansa will not operate any flights there until February 28. In addition, Lufthansa will not fly to Tehran until January 31. However, the Iranian capital is not on the Swiss flight schedule.
