This initiative isolates Switzerland - "in an already tense geopolitical situation of all things", said Ticino National Councillor Greta Gysin on the SVP popular initiative "No Switzerland of 10 million! (sustainability initiative)" in a press release. Switzerland needs reliable and stable relations with its European partners.

For the Greens, it is clear that migrants are an integral part of Swiss society and make a fundamental contribution to economic and social development.

The Greens also unanimously rejected the "reduction of civilian service in favor of the army". Magdalena Erni, Co-President of the Young Greens, is quoted as saying that civilian service is much more useful for Switzerland than the billions that are being invested in the army.
