Due to the tense situation in the Middle East, demand for flights between India and Europe is high, writes the Lufthansa subsidiary in its press release on Tuesday. The existing daily Swiss connections between Delhi and Zurich are therefore already largely fully booked.

An Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft will be used for the additional flights. The flights can be booked with immediate effect, Swiss also announced.

Swiss recently had to suspend its flights to Dubai (UAE) up to and including March 28. On Tuesday, Swiss extended the flight stop to and from Tel Aviv from April 2 to April 9. For its part, Swiss sister airline Edelweiss has canceled all flights to Oman until at least May 2.

Like Swiss, other airlines have expanded their other offers due to the conflict. Lufthansa, for example, is offering extra flights to Asia and Africa.
