The perpetrator, Naveed Akram, and his father had shot at the celebrating crowd at a Jewish festival at the famous Bondi Beach a week ago, killing 15 people.
The 50-year-old father was shot dead by police at the scene and his son was taken to hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds. The Australian authorities assume that they were influenced by the ideology of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist militia. The son has been charged with 15 counts of murder. He is charged with a total of 59 offenses. These include the accusation of having committed an act of terrorism.
