Telecommunications services in Lebanon have been disrupted following repeated Israeli attacks in several parts of the country.

Networks in the capital Beirut and in the areas around Tyros, Sidon and Nabatijeh were among those affected, according to the organization NetBlocks, which is primarily known for monitoring internet blocking. Internet connections had been lost in these regional networks. Due to the flight of many residents from attacks, internet usage is also declining.

The infrastructure of the communication networks in Lebanon was already considered weak before the current conflict. There is a lack of investment due to the ongoing financial and economic crisis, and access to the internet is expensive compared to other countries in the region. In the conflict between the Lebanese Hezbollah and Israel, there are also fears that Israel could disrupt the undersea cables to Lebanon, which - together with satellites - carry a large proportion of internet traffic.
