Three months before the vote on the SVP's "Ten Million Initiative", supporters and opponents are neck and neck, according to a survey by the Leewas Institute. The opposition campaign is led by the Free Democrats (FDP). These are particularly divided.
47% of all respondents are somewhat or completely opposed to the initiative, while 45% agree with it. Among FDP supporters, 46% are against the initiative and 42% are in favor of it.
According to the survey results, the base of the centrist party also appears to be divided - 34% support the initiative and 54% reject it.
Both the centrists and the FDP are less in favor of the initiative, while the "no" vote has increased compared to the first survey. The SVP proposal was clearly rejected by the Greens, the SP and the Green Liberals.
The survey was conducted as part of the 20 Minuten and Tamedia post-election survey on the federal votes of March 8. 17,788 people from all over Switzerland took part from March 5 to 8.
On June 14, the population will vote on the popular initiative "No 10 million Swiss". The Federal Council and parliament reject the initiative.
