The number of wolf packs that are regulated in Graubünden increases to nine. The Federal Office for the Environment has approved the canton's application to shoot two thirds of the pups of the Sinestra pack in the Lower Engadine.
At the beginning of September, a gamekeeper confirmed the presence of a total of seven pups in the municipality of Scuol GR. This is according to the regulatory decision, which was recently published on the website of the Grisons Office for Hunting and Fishing.
The decimation of the Stagias, Calderas, Muchetta, Jatzhorn, Seta, Älpelti and Agnas packs had already been approved at an earlier date. The Moesola wolf pack can also be completely eliminated. This year's culling period began on September 1 and ends on January 31, 2026.
There are currently 13 wolf packs living in the canton of Graubünden with an estimated total number of over one hundred animals.
