The beating attack on an SVP member of parliament from Aargau at the beginning of July in Zofingen AG has been largely clarified. The police arrested three suspected men aged between 19 and 21. They are in custody.

The suspects are a 20-year-old Swiss, a 21-year-old German and a 19-year-old Kosovar. Adrian Schuler, media spokesman for the chief public prosecutor's office in Aargau, confirmed a corresponding report in the "Aargauer Zeitung" newspaper on Monday.
The compulsory measures court has ordered pre-trial detention. The Zofingen-Kulm public prosecutor's office opened criminal proceedings against the three men.
The victim of the attack is 53-year-old René Schindler. He is a member of the cantonal parliament and SVP local president. He had repeatedly commented on the incident in the media.
The man suffered injuries to his head, bruises and lost a tooth in the attack on his way home from the traditional children's festival in Zofingen at 11 pm. He had to be treated in hospital. The three young men fled before the police arrived.
