Cantonal votes BS TREND: In Basel, a clear yes to the location package is emerging
After the postal votes were counted on Sunday in Basel-Stadt, a clear Yes to the location package is emerging. This is intended to cushion the consequences of the OECD minimum taxation for large companies.

According to the State Chancellery, 63.4 percent of postal votes were cast in favor of the location package, while 36.6 percent were against. In Basel-Stadt, postal votes account for well over 90 percent of the total number of votes, meaning that this interim result can be regarded as a reliable trend report.
The counter-proposal to the "Safe cycle routes for Basel-Stadt" initiative launched by left-wing parties and environmental associations also received a clear yes vote, with 58.7% of postal votes in favor. However, the initiative itself was clearly rejected by 63.4 percent of postal votes.
The final results were announced at 2.30 pm.
